Nice HD VideoAugust 13, 2010 R. Luciano(Florida) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this camera to replace an older Canon that was 8mp. The Nikon takes really great HD video for how small it is. The pictures have a weird fuzziness to them, but I think thats from the skin softening function. Havnt really gotten to use all the functions on it yet, but its def worth the price I paid. I had to return the first one I bought from Amazon because it came defective, so Amazon quickly replaced it for me. And that was a really smooth return process. I really like how this camera keeps a nice saturation of the colors. Outdoor shooting during the day is very good. But the ISO at low level lighting is not good at all. It actually annoys me a bunch. My Canon was great at night, but the Nikon no so much. And for how strong the Nikon flash is, you would think the ISO level would look better.
Not up to the hypeAugust 7, 2010 Modesto Estrada 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This camera takes great pictures if your subjects aren't moving or in low light. Chasing a 5 and a 3 year old the flash and the focus are extremly slow. Not just slow but VERY slow. The flash does get in the way of your hand when your not thinking about where your hand is at when holding the camera.
Overall if your going to take pictures of moving subjects where the flash or quicker (I'm not going to compare this to a DSLR) focusing is required I wouldn't choose this camera.
S8000 Cool Pix RocksAugust 2, 2010 kelerin I'm so glad I decided to make this purchase for an upcoming vacation. The camera is easy to use (even for Man thumbs) and the photo quality is awesome. It's quite durable as well because a well meaning fellow vacationer who decided to take of group photo for us, dropped it on the ground and it is still working great.
Well worth the money!
Fantastic Camera!July 29, 2010 Ronald L. Constable Haven't taken a whole lot of pictures with this camera, but the ones I have are GREAT! It is quick. The photos are great - nice color and contrast, and GREAT resolution! The 10X zoom is a wonderful capability. The LCD viewer if marvelous. You can use if to do some enlarging and cropping before the pics even leave the camera! Of course, it DOESN'T do well in bright sunlight - true for all LCD displays. The only solution is a viewfinder, which is very rare in these small cameras - and even the one I have in my Canon EOS 10D doesn't do all that well in bright sunlight. Have taken one little video with it, and it's pretty impressive - got in close to some bubbles in a champagne glass, and they show up just fine. It does capture audio, though not smashingly, as one would expect from a small unit with a pinhole for a microphone. This will become pretty much my primary camera, until I can afford a Canon EOS 5D MkII.
Exactly what I wanted...July 26, 2010 A. Rosenberger This camera starts up fast, has minimal shutter lag, and I can take one picture right after another! It's almost like using an 35mm camera with the benefits of digital.
