When I got the light kit, the boom was missing, and only had the lamp, bulb, and vertical mast stand.
I did not like the white inside of the lamp housing which was made of plastic with no way to vent heat. I would not recommend anything more powerful than a 20 watt until you've drilled vent holes near the bulb's socket.
I had to get silvered metal tape to line the inside of the lamp housing in order to increase the lamp intensity to a good enough level.
It at least came with a diffuser if I need it.
After sending multiple e-mails via amazon and directly to Cowboy Studios, they finally sent the boom out.
I was not impressed with the flimsy clamp and hook which holds the sand bags. I'd recommend using a strong zip tie to serve as a backup in case the boom gets set at an angle that would risk the weight bag slipping off the hook, or replacing the hook with a more secure hook that won't let the weight slip off at dangerous angles of the boom.
The base of the stand could've been more secure. The feet tend to draw in under the load of the weight bag, and boom. This makes it a bit unstable.
