DISC ERROR!!! UGGGGGH! August 23, 2010

I HAVE THE SAME COMPLAINTS AS THE OTHER REVIEWS I'VE READ. WE'VE TAPED SO MANY IMPORTANT EVENTS ONLY TO HAVE SOME SORT OF ERROR COME UP ON THE SCREEN WHILE WE'RE TRYING TO FINALIZE THE DVD. DRIVES ME CRAZY!! ONCE THAT HAPPENS, DISC IS GARBAGE AND MEMORIES ARE LOST FOREVER. ANOTHER PROBLEM WE HAVE IS THE "DISC ERROR" COMING UP ON A BRAND NEW DISC. WE'VE HAD THE CAMERA FOR 6 MONTHS NOW AND TRIED DIFFERENT THINGS TO FIX THE PROBLEMS. NOTHING HELPS. THINK I MIGHT CONTACT SAMSUNG AND SEE WHAT THEY CAN DO.

Every time I load a new disc, after a few minutes, the "write error" comes up. I've tried to clean the camcorder using Dust Off and the same thing happens. I've no idea what to do, I thought of smashing it on a rock and forget about it. Samsung SC-DX205 Hybrid DVD & Flash Memory Camcorder w/34x Optical Zoom.

Don't buy this Camcorder! I received nothing but "disc error" on almost all of my discs when I would load them. Sometimes it would even record for about 10 minutes, then give the "disc error" notification. It won't even let you finalize the discs when this happens! So, I'm left with discs that are unwatchable! WHat a gigantic waste of money! Much better to get a memory card camcorder - I recommend a JVC model.
I also called customer service about the constant disc error and they said it is a rare occurance. Not true at all from what I've heard from other camcorder owners!

I had the same problem as Bonnie; exchanged the first camcorder only to have the exact problem with the second. The biggest problem is that I trusted the thing & recorded 4 DVD's that I am unable to "finalize" due to disc error (didn't matter if they were rw or r). My local store where I bought it from also addressed this with Samsung customer service, who said that they have not had any other reports of this problem (hmmmmm) so it could be user error. Not too tough to pop in a DVD shoot film, then power on to read "disc error" so not sure how both myself & the salesman are so stupid. Sorry for my kids to not have their State wrestling tourney on DVD & the parents who couldn't make it & counted on me recording their kids as well. Kind of takes away from the "adorable" camcorder!

I have been unable to this camera. I load new disc, format, record, shut off go to record again and get the message disc error. At that point i can not finalize or view anything i have recorded. I used 3 different disc's and the same thing happens each time. Samsung customer service did not help I was told to switch from the rw to the r. my point is if it does not work with the rw as it says it will right on the camera then something is wrong. why do i want a camera that can only be partially used? I felt i was getting a run around from Samsung and will never purchase another product of theirs as they do not stand behind their products.
