Doesn't Work Properly February 28, 2010 Johnny Robish (Kapaa, Hi) I bought this product and had only a couple of things I wanted/needed it to do. One was charge the phone and second was to be able to hook up to my computer's iTunes and iPhoto for downloads and updates, etc. To accomplish this, I hooked the dock to a brand new USB hub over which everything else worked great. The problem is that the dock always had difficultly recognizing my iPhone. Even when I first bought it, half the time I would have to hook up to my iPhone to my computer directly through another USB because the dock would not recognize my iPhone. Eventually, it completely crapped out on me would NEVER recognize my iPhone. I tried everything such as move ports on the USB hub and even connecting the hub directly into my iMac. Nothing worked. As others have stated, its a great idea, but bad implementation.
Great dock, wish it charged on its own February 14, 2010 Damien D. (Boston, MA USA) This is a wonderfully designed dock. Looks great, works great, built solid. The one drawback is that it will NOT charge your phone when the computer is off. Even if the extra power supply is connected, it doesn't charge your phone.
Lots of features February 13, 2010 J. Thomas (Houston, TX USA) I got an iMac and needed additional USB connections. I have an iPhone, iPod, CF cards and SD cards that I need to use with the iMac. This unit has 2 USB ports on it which extends the ports one, but not having to have a card reader and a iPhone dock freed up 2 additional ports. Works as advertised and clears up clutter on the desk.
Not a USB 2.0 Device February 6, 2010 Ronald W. Heiby Despite the item description referring to "anything USB 2.0-compatible", it is not actually a USB 2.0 device. Connecting my iPhone 3GS through it, I could barely see the progress bar moving for a large file sync. Totally unacceptable. My eyetv doesn't even work through the hub, insisting that it be connected to a USB 2.0 hub. This is going back. Too bad. Otherwise, it would have been a good idea.
Buying my second one! January 26, 2010 Whitney Lassini 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this little unit several months ago to use at work with my iPhone, Nano and SD cards. I love it. I have never had any problems with it. I am now buying a second one to use at home with my Mac. Heck, I might just buy one for the hubby too.
