It is open on the bottom to allow either the jack to listen or the jack to charge the iPod. The iPod is securely fitted in the case. The front protection allows you to move the dial w/o trouble. It allows easy access to switch on the iPod. The band allows for easy adjustment for any arm. Would purchase another one.
Love it!!!January 14, 2010 M. Garcia I love this armband so much! It was super hard for me to find an armband small enough for my arm and that my ipod didn't slip out of. This holds the ipod securely and has plenty of adjustable velcro to fit just about any arm size.

Works Great!December 22, 2009 billyhousemover When I purchased this arm band, I was concerned about two things that I read in the reviews. Not being able to get the ipod back out and it not fitting big biceps. I went for it anyway because I needed it for working out at the gym. I was worried as soon as I tried to put it on because it was way to small, but after working with it a little bit I figured out how to adjust it. It would have been nice if Griffen had of included some directions for this process. After getting it adjusted there was plenty of growing room and I already have a nice pair of guns. I worked out for about two hours and it never slipped down my arm. As for it not coming out after you put it in, I found that if you just slide it in and do not rub the plastic cover on the ipod it will slide out with no trouble at all. The guy who tore his up getting his ipod back out must have had very little patience! It does get damp from working out and being strapped to your arm but it dries out fast. It has worked perfect for me and I will probably never buy a different brand. Get a pair of SOUND-SQUARED "GMS-104" earbuds to go with this armband and you will be as happy as I am.
