Very satisfied July 2, 2010 Jack A. Hutchings (Tampa, FL USA) I was skeptical of using an FM transmitter for everyday use, but this has blown me away. The sound quality is about the same as radio, as one would expect. I get some static going through certain parts of town, but after using it for a few weeks, I've become used to it and am no longer bothered by it. I have also used it outside of my car, to play on radios at friends' houses or at work. A very nice added feature that I hadn't given much thought to when I purchased it. Overall, I highly suggest this to anyone who wants to get easily play their iPod in the car or elsewhere without worrying about having the proper connections for the specific situation.
Awful May 21, 2010 C. Kloster (Ann Arbor, MI) Horrible sound quality. If you have to buy a FM transmitter get one that plugs in to you cigarette lighter, they are much better even though they do cost more.
Good product works as advertised May 18, 2010 Dave A. Wandrocke I am very happy with my i-Trip. It works fine and the sound quality is great; although not as great as a direct connect system. My only complaint is, if you are using it on a long road trip you may find yourself searching for blank FM stations fairly often. Which is true for any FM transmitter. What I really like about this unit, is I can use it with any FM radio so works great in a hotel room with a FM radio or my home stereo without the need for other adapters. It does get its power from the iPod's battery so the iPod's battery will drain faster. I have used it for several hours and not completely drained the iPod battery. It does have a port so it can be plugged into any USB power source and it will charge the iPod. I use it in my car with a 12 volt adapter and it keeps my iPod charged while driving long distances.
Amazing Device! May 17, 2010 Jeffrey E. Kinman Originally, I bought a Belkin Tuncast Auto Live from the Apple store thinking that they would sell the products which worked best with iPods. How wrong I was. Seriously - do not waste your money on one of those. I could not even get a clear signal on it standing still! I immediately returned it and starting researching alternatives on Amazon. I read all the reviews for the iTrip and decided to try it, in spite of some of the bad reviews. All I can tell you is that for me, this product was practically a miracle. We immediately found a compatible station and started getting a clear signal. While driving around to test it out, we noticed that there was a bit of fuzz from time to time, so we found another signal which was very strong and virtually fuzz free. I was worried that since I live in a major city (Dallas) within 2 miles of the downtown area that I would not be able to find any device which did not have tons of static, but this product does it. Every once in a while there is a tiny bit of static when we turn a corner, but I have found that these instances are quite rare and I don't even notice it anymore when it does happen. Also - I found that my old Motorola phone charger has the same jack as the iTrip and I am able to charge it using that while I drive. I understand you can buy the Powerjolt for this purpose, but if you already have a phone charger, it might work with the iTrip.
