The Griffin Technology 9500-TRIPDA iTrip LCD/FM Transmitter with Dock Connector for iPod is the most popular iPod FM transmitter in the world. It lets you avoid the hassle of bad reception and bad music on your car's radio by transmitting your iPod's music directly to your FM radio. The iTrip has a large, easy to read backlit LCD screen, memory settings, and a snazzy compact and self-contained design that's great for car travel. iTrip even has international modes for when you're in Europe or Japan and are looking for a frequency below what's available in the U.S. mode. Meanwhile, the new option of selecting between LX and DX modes allows you to hear audio with minimal interference from stations on crowded urban dials.

iPod nano 1G, iPod nano 2G, iPod mini, iPod 3G, iPod 4G (Clickwheel), iPod Color, iPod 5G/5.5G Video

    4 out of 5 stars Fantastic...Low Tech Device   February 19, 2010

This is a low tech method of enjoying your iPod over the FM radio. It is easy to use and had good sound quality over the radio..

Got one for myself. Love it. It goes in the car when I take long trips.

5 out of 5 stars Not a single problem. Good product!   February 6, 2010
    A. Dimalanta (Overland Park, KS / Springfield, MO)
Never had interference or distortion on a clean (unused) radio channel. One thing I liked was that I could use my phone charger (motorola uses the mini-usb plug, or is it micro?) to keep the battery on my iPod charged without any problems, it's probably not recommended but I haven't checked the power specs but I did this for almost 2 years with no problems. My new car has a built in mp3 player adapter, which is the only reason I don't use it much anymore but I still keep it around because it's great for bringing with me when I take someone else's car. It's light and portable between cars and purses (or pockets even). The only problem I noticed had nothing to do with the device at all, in some places I would travel to it just seemed like there were very few unused radio signals, haha. Again, this had nothing to do with the device so I have no complaints!

2 out of 5 stars Incompatibility Issues   December 29, 2009
    stosh259 (South Huntington, NY, USA)
The device is clean and well designed in appearance. However there are two major issues worth noting. The reception is bad no matter what frequency selected on the radio being played on. The reception gets worse depending how you hold the device when connected to the player. In other words, when your hand is about to grab the device, there is a lot of static. When holding the device, reception appears slightly better.

Even bigger of an issue is the fact that this is NOT compatible with any of the newer generations of the iPod touch. The technical details states compatible with touch but does not distinguish which version work.

The seller promptly issued a refund because of the deceptive advertizing.

I received my Griffin iTrip in very short order, much faster than I expected! It was a new item wrapped in the original packaging, and the price was about 30% of retail.

Great service from Amazon and its dealers!
