Product Description Imagine having a high powered FM Transmitter, an iPod auto charger AND a convenient iPod cradle. Meet RoadTrip, the only iPod and iPod mini car accessory you'll ever need. RoadTrip makes enjoying an iPod or iPod mini in the car convenient and easy. The RoadTrip plugs into any auto power outlet or lighter adapter and provides an adjustable cradle to charge and hold any docking iPod including the new 4G iPods and the iPod mini. The RoadTrip transmitter can then be set to broadcast iPod's music to any FM frequency from 88.1 to 107.9. Its backlit screen shows which frequency RoadTrip is currently broadcasting -and can easily be adjusted via buttons located directly on the front of the unit. Your iPod's audio is transmitted through the connected dock on the bottom of iPod. Not only is this a superior signal transmission but it also leaves the top of the iPod exposed for use with other iPod accessories like the Griffin iTalk. The RoadTrip is a great FM transmitter and car charger for the iPod in the car, but what makes RoadTrip truly unique is its removable transmitter module that can also broadcast music from a Mac or PC. The package includes a combination USB power and audio connector cable that attaches any USB equipped computer to the module. Users can then play their iTunes music, movie audio or presentation sound to any FM stereo close by. The RoadTrip is compatible with all docking iPods, including the iPod mini. iPods with FireWire ports on top (1st and 2nd gen) will not work with the RoadTrip.

RoadTrip FM Transmitter & Auto Charger and Cradle for iPod March 5, 2010 Vittoria A. Johnson (CLOQUET, MN, US) I LOVE this product!!! I owned this same product when it came out several years ago, so I made the MISTAKE of trying to upgrade to the Griffin Roadtrip with SmartScan FM Transmitter, WRONG DECISION!!! I literally had this for less than a week. The sound quality was HORRIBLE. It never sounded clear and most of the time there was so much interference that I couldn't listen to it at all, HOW ANNOYING. Well, it kind of took care of itself, all of a sudden, we were driving along and the charging light went off and we smelled burnt electronics. IT BLEW UP!! I decided to go back to the "old school" version and I order 2, one for myself and one for my man. He has yet to use his, but the quality is just as good, if not BETTER THAN I REMEMBER!! It's WONDERFUL! My only complaint or suggestion for an upgrade... would be to make it the same style as the Roadtrip with SmartScan FM Transmitter, this one is a lot less BULKY!
Does NOT charge my 3G March 3, 2010 A. Kelly The product description states that this unit will charge a 3G, but it does not. Also, a good bump will knock the connection loose. However, the sound quality is much better than the wireless transmitter I was using previously and that, for me, is worth the price. It gets only 3 stars for not delivering all the features it advertised for my 3G.
OK for the price February 18, 2010 Timothy Lindhorst (St. Cloud, MN) This product is OK for the price. It doesn't stay well when using the extension arm to hold an iPod Classic. It slips because of the weight, i.e. the cig. lighter insert isn't tight enough.
ROAD Trip February 10, 2010 J. Damond (Virginia Beach, VA) Couldn't be happier with this product. My only complaint is the unit is a little heavy which attributes to a loose connection after time. Although that's a minor issue to me.
pleasantly surprised, with 1 dissapointment January 29, 2010 leanne belli i purchased this product based on the customer reviews on amazon. sooo thank you to those of you who wrote all of them. and I was pleased with the product given my expectations perceived from reading the reviews. It is a nice model, how it holds the ipod, verses the cord, the sound quality is pretty decent, i was surprised at how great it sounded because i did not have high expectations for this. My 1 and ONLY complaint is that for some reason it says it can not charge this device when i connect my ipod nano to it? it plays it fine, and works perfectly, just wont charge it? which is a little disappointing, but other than that i am very pleased so far! I would defiantly recommend this product :)
